I'm not sure who lives where, so this question might have a very minimal amount of responses, but is anyone heading down (or up, depending on location of residence) to Anime North 2009? For all of you who don't know, that's the big --- Canadian Con held in Toronto at the end of May. If you're not going to this one, what about a different con? This is the only con I've ever been to, but I can't picture anything better. Any con opinions you'd like to through around?

`I have been to many Anime conventions all over north america I find Anime North has the most to offer. It is by far the best convention in north America. I am planning on dressing up this year as Barret from ffVII. I live in Waterloo Ontario so this convention is only about a 50 minute drive and I stay at the hotel for the 3 days.

`Sweet, so apparently I'm going to the right one

I'm cosplaying as Kid from Soul Eater this year... if I get my costume ready in time. I'm such a lazy person! I've only gone twice before, first year as Eureka from Eureka 7 and then as Ritsuka from Loveless.

Your lucky, I live in Sarnia so my drive is 3 hours What I wouldn't give to shave of 70 minutes from that! I'm staying in a hotel too, for Friday and Saturday. I might get to go down early and be there Thursday night, so I don't miss anything Friday, but we are still working out the driving plans

I can't wait for them to put out the scheduals! I bet this year will be just as good as last!

Are you on a hunt for any particular pieces of merchandice?

I never know what I am looking for until I am there. I will also admit to being a freebie moocher at Anime north LOL.

Sadly these forums are dead but i can guarantee a lot of people on here are going. It's the best convention and People come from all over to go.

`Gr... darn dead forums. PEOPLE BETTER START POSTING HERE SOON!!!

Free stuff is always a plus, but I'm not very good at locating it I'll try harder this year.

I always plan stuff I need out. Like, for example, this year I need 1-7 of La Corda D'Oro and 7+ of Highschool Debut. I always have my top priorities, then I buy whatever the hell I see :)

`I can't speak personally about the topic, but the internet tells me there are a few cons out in Texas. AnimeFest and Project A-Kon in Dallas, Oni-con in Houston, Realms Con in Corpus Christi (where ever that is XP), San Japan in San Antonio, and Ikkicon in Austin.

Hum... it looks like most of them are small fry, except for Project A-Kon. It had a whole 14,500 guests in 2007. Sounds just as big as Anime North!

Well, hope that helped Here are a few sites you might want to check out.

GAH!!! I wanna go to a con so badly!!! The only one I could've gone to I had to work...for all 3 days x_x. Next time I get the chance I'm going...even if I have to buy a plane ticket...(but then I would need money)
